Your Guide to Navigating Las Vegas when You’ve Just Moved There

Las Vegas is on the bucket list of countless people who want to make it here before they die: but why just visit when you can move to this amazing city?  From world-famous entertainment to the best food in the country, you’ll be stunned at how much there is to do here beyond gambling.

These are the top things to know when you’re new to Vegas and why it’s a paradise for everyone who lives here!

Avoid the Gimmicks and Scams

It’s easy to fall for the countless gimmicks, and bits companies do to try and make as much money as possible.  Unfortunately, if you fall for any of these, you can find yourself losing a lot of dough and struggling to get by here.

Avoid falling for busking or street vendors, and try to stay financially defensive as you move through the city.  You can still enjoy the countless attractions, but when the third below-freezing bar opens up within the same month, it’s safe to say you can skip this attraction.

Take Public Transit

It’s tempting to come to town with your own car and drive everywhere, but Vegas isn’t actually that big.  Although it fits a lot into the square footage it has, it’s not worth dealing with the hours of traffic just to move a couple of miles.

Instead, avoid facing off with tourists in the streets and simply take public transit.  This will save you a lot of money on car insurance, gasoline, and paying for a car, and it will give you a chance to zone out and work or listen to music on your commute.

Get to Know the Off-Season

Many don’t realize that Las Vegas has an off-season!  Between late July to late September, when the weather is the driest and hottest and kids are going back to school, you see fewer tourists than any other time of the year.

This means attractions, lodging, and food are more affordable, that lines are shorter, and you have free reign of the city.  Although there are a couple of attractions that close during this time, most are open and eager to make some money.

Enjoy the Incredible Food

Vegas is home to some of the best restaurants in the country!  Here you can try countless comfort foods, international eats, and unique restaurants that literally don’t exist anywhere else.  Although Las Vegas has more celebrity-chef restaurants than any other city out there, it can be fun to stop and explore what every eatery has to offer.

Know the Fun Beyond Gambling

Although gambling can be a lot of fun, it shouldn’t be something you do every week or spend a large amount of money on.  It’s entertainment, not an investment.  If you feel yourself getting out of control with spending, seek help!  This can be a lot of fun when you don’t hurt your chance of being able to afford apartments for rent in Las Vegas.

There’s Nothing Else Like Vegas

Whether you’re moving here from a different state or just a neighboring city, there’s nothing else like Vegas in the world.  From the entertainment to the food, you’ll always find something here that will stun you and make you want to see more!
