Africa’s First Android One Smartphone Start Receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update

Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the latest iteration of Google Android Software  that was released by Google sometime in 2015, has started rolling out to Africa’s first  Android One Smartphone –the Infinix Hot 2.

According to a guide on how to install Andorid 6.0 on Infinix Hot 2 (Android One) (via Techrez), the OTA update has started rolling out to Infinix Hot 2 users in Nigeria  as well as users in Ghana, Kenya and other African countries where the Hot 2 is currently selling.

The Infinix Hot 2 Android 6 update weighs about 625MB and brings with it a whole lot of features including RAM manager, Battery optimizer, ability to migrate data to a microSD card, new APIs for contextual assistants etc.

Though we are yet to receive the Android 6.0 update, so we expect the update in the coming days as it gradually roll out for all the users.

The Infinix Hot 2 currently sells in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and some other African countries and it is available in black, white, blue, red‎; and the premium version comes in gold.
