It was earlier rumored that the Moto Z & Moto Z Force had come to replace the Moto X series, but that report was debunked officially by Motorola, saying the company will continue to update the Moto X series. Now it appears an update to the Moto X series is on the verge of being released as revealed by a listing on GFXBench.
The device believed to be the Moto X 2016 with model number XT1650 is expected to come with some flagship specs, with a dual camera setup being the main selling point.
The Moto X 2016 is expected to carry a display size of 5.5-inch with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Underneath the display, there would be a 2.1GHz quad- Snapdragon 820 chipset with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage.
The Moto X 2016 will come with dual rear camera setup made of a 21MP and a 16MP rear camera capable of shootng 4K video. A 5MP front-facing camera be in charge of selfies & video chats, and will likely boot Android 6.0.out of the box.
