The trend of smartphones having 5.5-inch screens is now drifting away, even as more smartphone users desire and have started asking for bigger displays on smartphones, partly due to the new outburst in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality use on mobiles.
Following this trend is Cubot, with a plan to launch a new smartphone in August with a monstrous screen size.
Okay. I exaggerated a bit there. The screen is not so monstrous, considering that it’s just 6 inches, some other smartphones have larger screens and are still called mobile. The new upcoming Cubot smartphone which is to be called Cubot Max is actually Cubot’s first mobile with a screen that large, with other Cubot smartphones like Cubot S600 having displays not passing the 5.0-inch mark.
The image above was used as an illustration on the Cubot Max official product page, and postulates that the Cubot Max will be great for playing games, watching movies and reading, thanks to its wide screen.
The 6-inch screen is not the only classy feature of the Cubot Max, though. It is to be powered by an octa-core MT6735A processor and will run on a 4,000mAh battery. It will pack 32GB of internal storage expandable by microSD, and the processor will have 3GB of RAM to carry out its functions effectively. Images and videos will be handled by a 13MP main camera and a 5MP front camera will take all the selfies you want. The Cubot Max is set to boot Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
