The Vivo v3 Max comes with a 5.5-inch display, which by the way is fast becoming the standard display size for modern smartphones. Interestingly, the Vivo v3 Max features a Quad-core 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 and 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 chipset, the same chipset found in the Motorola Moto G4 Plus, thereby making true its claim to feature high-end specs with a lower price tag. These and many more are the features the Vivo v3 Max possesses.

The question on your mind now should be:
‘How good is the vivo v3 Max?’
Find out by reading the Vivo v3 Max Full Specifications.

Vivo v3 Max Specifications(Details)

Display & Body Design

The Max 3’s innards are enclosed in a premium metallic case, which makes it a bit slippery, like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

At a first glance, the Vivo v3 Max looks very much like an iPhone. While this is not bad per se, many Android fanboys will not be too pleased by this, because the main reason they want to purchase an Android device in the first place is because they don’t want an Apple iPhone. However, some people will actually be pleased with this feature, because it affords them an opportunity to have a phone resembling the classy iPhone and bearing Android’s awesome features. The Max 3’s innards are enclosed in a premium metallic case, which makes it a bit slippery, like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

The Vivo v3 Max comes in two color variants: Gold and Rose. When you pronounce those two colors, it seems like you’re actually saying: ‘boy and girl’. Bravo, Vivo! At the front of the screen of the v3 Max are three capacitive navigation keys with a disappointing edge to them: they aren’t illuminated. How Vivo expects us to use this device without illuminated navigation keys in dark conditions is what I don’t know. However, this isn’t a problem for people familiar with rooting and Gravity Box, turning the backlight of the capacitive keys on shouldn’t be a problem.

The 5.5 inches display of the Vivo v3 Max features a 1080pixels resolution with clear picture quality at wide viewing angles. Other than that though, the display is nothing to write home about, with competing devices like the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Meizu M2 Note featuring better displays. I mean, the screen of the Vivo v3 Max feels more like plastic than glass, and accumulates fingerprints like a biometrics device(lol!).

Memory & Performance

The Vivo v3 Max is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, with 4GB of RAM to further aid the device’s advertisement slogan: “Faster than faster”. Recent performance tests by Android Authority reviewer Bailey Stein showed that the v3 Max is actually delivering well on that slogan.

Playing high-end resource-intensive games is all the more easier on the Vivo v3 Max, thanks to its modern Adreno 510 Graphics Card. The internal memory has 32GB of storage, which is fair enough considering that the device supports external storage.

Power & Battery

With a 3,000mAh battery, the Vivo v3 Max lasts for an impressive 6 hours on-screen time, and as long as twenty four hours on standby with short usage. If this still isn’t enough for you, there are several battery saving options you can acrtivate within the device which are designed to save extra juice for longer utility.

Audio & Video

The Vivo v3 Max audio is enhanced with an AKM AK4375 Hi-Fi audio chip, which offers superior audio quality for a lowly-priced device. And the speaker, which is found at one side of the device, is surprisingly amazing for a middle-range device like the Vivo v3 Max. The speaker churns out sounds at a notably high volume, typical of China phones. However, the Vivo v3 Max audio differs from other China phones in that the speaker possesses low audio distortion, and produces high-quality sounds especially when used with headphones and other external speakers.

Connectivity

The Vivo v3 Max supports 4G LTE network, which shouldn’t come as a surprise anymore, as most, if not all smartphones that have been released in 2016 are equipped with 4G LTE. The phone supports dual SIM interface, and for those that want to buy the device outside of China, it’s unlocked and not network-specific. However, if you decide the 32GB internal storage isn’t enough for you and want to use an external memory card, you’d have to sacrifice on the two sim card slots. Why? That’s the way it’s designed. This means that at least one of the two sim slots is a Nano SIM slot which doubles as an external memory card slot. This type of design isn’t new, it’s also found on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The memory card extension supports up to 128GB of external storage.

Camera

The Vivo v3 Max sports a 13MP rear camera which blends well with the phone design and combines with phase detection autofocus to deliver sharp and detailed images in good lighting conditions. But sadly, that’s where it ends. The camera performs badly in low-light conditions, struggling to provide pictures that appear noisy and distorted. The 8MP front camera however performs excellently in all types of conditions, offering a consolation for that. The Vivo v3 Max camera has many interesting features that are easy to access and use.

General

The Vivo v3 Max runs on Vivo’s custom software FunTouch OS 2.5 which is based on Android 5.1 lollipop. Dissapointing, huh? At the time of its release, the Vivo v3 Max ran on Android 5.1 lollipop which is already being considered as old software by many already drinking from Marshmallow’s cup of features. This caused a wide decry of the device by major reviewers and users, prompting Vivo to release an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Vivo v3 Max sometimes in May.

The device has another interesting feature, a fingerprint scanner which is also fast becoming a common feature in smartphones. The Vivo v3 Max’s fingerprint scanner has been found to be incredibly fast in tests, even faster than Google’s own Huawei Nexus 6p and Xiaomi’s Mi 5. Other features of the device include FunTouch’s S Capture which adds more functionality to screen sharing(I didn’t mean literally, I meant screenshot sharing), and customizable wake-up gestures.
