Huawei Honor Note 8 Announced in China: Specs & Price

After some teasing, the Huawei Honor Note 8 has been announced. The wide-screened device was announced just recently at an event in China, and pricing and sales details for the device have also been announced.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 should not be confused with the Huawei Honor 8, which was released last month. The specifications revealed at the launch of the Honor Note 8 confirmed those indicated by an earlier teaser by Weibo.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 comes with a large 6.6-inch QHD display with a 2.5D Curved Glass layered on top and pixel resolution of 2560 * 1440 pixels. The display is powered by AMOLED panels, and has a high contrast ratio of 70,000:1.

The Honor Note 8 is designed with a metal unibody finish, and is just 7.18mm thick. It is slightly weighty at 219 grams, and features a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 is powered under the hood by an Octa-core Kirin 955 processor with a maximum speed of 2.5GHz. Graphics operations are handled by a Mali T880-MP4 GPU.

Complementing that is a 4GB of RAM, and three ROM variants – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. All storage variants are expandable up to 128GB via an external memory card.

The Honor Note has a 13MP main camera with a f/2.0 aperture, OIS technology and a RGBW sensor. The rear camera is also equipped with a dual-tone LED flash. At the front of the device is an 8MP camera.

Like most modern smartphones, the Huawei Honor Note 8 supports 4G network connectivity with VoLTE support. It also sports advanced Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac connectivity with speeds of 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Other connectivity options are Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C port.

On the software side, the Honor Note 8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with Huawei’s EMUI version 4.1 layered on top. To support that is a 4,500mAh battery with fast-charging capabilities.

Huawei Honor Note 8 Price in China, India and Nigeria



The Huawei Honor Note 8 comes in three color variants: Gold, Silver and Gray. The 32GB variant costs 2299 Yuan/Rs. 23,110/$346 and will cost about N120,000 in Nigeria. The 64GB variant costs 2499 Yuan/Rs. 25,125/$376 and will cost about N140,000 in Nigeria. The 128GB variant costs 2799 Yuan/Rs. 28,140/$420 and will cost about N170,000 in Nigeria.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 is already available for order through Vmall and Jd.com, and will start selling from August 9th.
