On closer look at the specifications the device packs, it is evident that this one isn’t mate with the Mate 8, neither is it a flagship device. The device looks to be an upgraded version of the Huawei Maimang 4 released around this time last year.
According to the TENAA record, the Huawei Maimang 5 features a 5.5-inch Full-HD Touchscreen display. The device will be powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor which is believed to be a Snapdragon 652 SoC although it could be a Kirin 650 version.
The Huawei Maimang 5 also features both 3GB and 4GB RAM versions and three different internal memory sizes, one of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB respectively. All three variants are expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card but only the 64GB on-board storage spec comes with 4GB RAM.
On the camera terrain, the Maimang 5 packs a 16MP camera with LED flash just beside the camera and also an 8MP front facing camera. There is also a fingerprint sensor just under the camera.
The phone will boot Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and comes packing a generous 3270mAh battery.
