Canadian based BlackBerry Ltd has finally laid to rest rumors & Speculations about its first Android powered device.The firm launched its first Android powered smartphone – the blackberry Priv which is expected to help the firm salvage its smartphone market, which has slid to under one percent in the past few years.
The BlackBerry Priv looks attractive in design, but thicker than most recent flagships on same Android platform , weighing a heffy 192g, and measuring 147 x 77.2 x 9.4mm, and heavy at 192g, measuring 147 x 77.2 x 9.4mm, and extending to 184mm when when it is slide open.
The Blackberry Priv features a backlit QWERTY keyboard that slides out from behind the 5.4-inch quad HD display.The Blackberry Priv has under its hood a 1.8GHz 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, along with 3GB RAM, 32GB of expandable internal storage.
The Blackberry Priv is also well endowed in the Camera compartment featuring a 18-megapixel rear camera, with a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper, with the rear being a Schneider-Kreuznach lens. Optical image stabilisation and 4K UHD video recording up to 30 frames per second are the highlights.
The Operating system is Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box and powered by a 3410mAh battery, which Blackerry claims can last upto 22hous of regular call.Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 4G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer.
